Daily Pint Goes to Asia

Summer is almost here, and that means it's time for a vacation.

First up, India. We're pouring a keg of Avery Maharaja, a big IPA with a heavy, grapefruity hoppiness. This beer weighs in at 10.24%, but drinks like it's 6%. You'll finish this one before you've started. Appease your colonial overlords and wash it down with some Firestone Union Jack, another worthy IPA.

Take off your turban and pop on your fez, next we travel to Russia.

Now on tap: Stone Imperial Russian Stout 2009. A beer that needs no introduction. It's worth mentioning that in the back, we've got a few vintage bottles from previous years. Ask Llan or Phil, and we can pull one out for you and throw it in the fridge.

After this one kicks, we've got one more keg of IRS, and we might try and hold on to it for a while. Sure, we'd love to break it out in 2014, but we just don't have the facilities to store beer for that long.  How long do you think we should wait before we put on our last keg of 2009 IRS? Leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.

Get in here and drink some of the IRS we've got on now so you can taste the difference in a few months.

ON CASK RIGHT NOW:
Stone Pale w/ Coriander

The Einhorn Pilsner just kicked, and in it's place, we've put on Russian River Damnation.  Check back soon for Einhorn's Hefeweizen, which will probably go on at the beginning of next week.

On cask we've got Stone's Levitation w/ Coriander, and on deck (probably going on by Friday evening or Saturday) we've got Ruination w/ Columbus and Chinook.
Game 1 starts tonight at 6:00pm.  See you here!

Smoked Porters in June? Sure, why not!

alaskan-smoked-porter-logo

Some people make a big deal out of only drinking lighter beers like hefs and pilsners when the weather gets warmer.  But we think that's a bit silly.  Stouts and porters are great to drink any time of year!

Just because Alaskan Smoked Porter is released every winter doesn't mean we can't hold on to a keg for a few months and tap it when we're ready for a change.  Right now is a great time for enjoying a tasty porter.

Also on tap right now is Stone's Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean.  Talk about two complete opposite ends of the spectrum.  While the Vanilla Bean Smoked Porter has a milky, rich ice cream taste to it, the Alaskan Smoked Porter really brings the smoke, rauchbier style.

To make this beer, the malts are smoked in small batches in a commercial food smoker using Alaskan alder wood.  This award winning beer is one of the best American-made examples of the classic German rauchbier.
