Tomorrow: 09.09.09 Vertical Epic Release and Beer Dinner

stone-vertical-epic-09-09-09Vertical Epic Day falls on a Wednesday this year, so we've got some very special mid-week beers that are going on tomorrow.  On deck to be tapped tomorrow are a whole handful of Stone beers, including 09.09.09, Sublimely Self Righteous, Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Bastard, Old Guardian, 13th Anniversary, and Imperial Russian Stout.

The always popular Vanilla Bean Porter will be tapped as well, but this time we've got a keg and not a firkin!  This beer is extremely rare outside of the brewery and will be a special treat for all you fans of the cask version.  Here's an article from the Stone Blog about the creation of this beer.

In addition to these great beers, the Pint will also be welcoming the Let's Be Frank hot dog wagon, which will be serving up fine 100% beef hot dogs.  For more information on Let's Be Frank, you can check out their webpage for their mission statement and info on sustainable farming, or follow their truck on Twitter.

The frankomobile will be around from 6ish-9pm, so come on out to the Pint for some 09.09.09 Vertical Epic and some great dogs!

Weekend of May 15th

The Einhorn Spezial Pilsner was a big hit, and we have another keg of it on this weekend.

Hopheads should come by for Port's Hop 15, and right now we've got some Smoked Porter with American Oak that has taken the place of last week's Sublimely Self Righteous with Chinook and Simcoe.

On deck we've got Ruination with Chinook, but before we can put it on, we've got to kill the cask of Arrogant Bastard with Columbus (Look, they're buddies!)

New at the Daily Pint: Einhorn Spezial Pilsner

We just put on a new German-style pilsner brewed right here in California, and wow, this is one solid pilsner.

It's nice to see authentic German-style beers being brewed nearby.  Since it's brewed locally, it gets here fresh, unlike many of the German-brewed beers that take weeks to arrive from Germany.

Spezial Pilsner is one of 3 beers currently being made by Einhorn Beer Company out of San Luis Obispo.  The brewer, Douglas Martin, lived in Germany for over 20 years, and spent 2 years at the Doemen's Beverage Academy in Munich, one of three brewing academies in Germany.

Doug talks about his beers on the Einhorn website:

Weekend Stone Cask Update

Right now we've got Oaked AB on cask, along with some Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean.  That stuff never lasts long, so once it's gone, we've got a couple more Stone casks ready to go.  Waiting to be tapped are Stone IPA with Amarillo, and the cask version of Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale w/ Columbus hops added (like it really needs more hops).  This is a black IPA that was brewed as their 11th Anniversary Ale, but they liked it so much, they thought they'd give it a new name and brew more.

Also, don't forget about tonight's Irish Whisky tasting.  If the turnout is anything like December's Single Malt Scotch tasting, you'll want to get here early!
